The Story Behind scanNcall India's No. 1 Lost and Found Brand, Turning Frustration into Innovation

Losing something important is a moment of panic most of us have experienced. That sinking feeling, the frantic search, and the lingering hope that somehow, someone will find it and return it to you. For me, Kishore Rathore, this wasn’t an occasional problem—it was a recurring one.
As someone who loves to travel, I’ve explored 8 countries and encountered the same issue everywhere: people losing items like passports, luggage, keys, or wallets, with no easy way to reconnect with the finder. But it wasn’t just during travel. Even in my day-to-day life, I faced this issue repeatedly.
One incident stuck with me. After parking my car on a busy roadside—a necessity due to the lack of parking space—I returned to find it scratched and a tire punctured. There was no note, no way to know who might have accidentally caused the damage or how they could have reached me to apologize or offer help. It was frustrating, and I thought, Why is it so hard for people to communicate in these situations?
This wasn’t just my story. I saw others around me facing similar challenges. Whether it was a friend losing their phone or a fellow traveler misplacing a bag, the common thread was the lack of a simple system to connect finders and owners.
That’s when the idea of scanNcall began to take shape.
The Journey to Build scanNcall
I didn’t come from a tech background, so the idea of building a tech-based product seemed daunting. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized how desperately this solution was needed. If something didn’t exist to solve this problem, I would create it myself.
I brought together a small but talented team of developers and started brainstorming. The vision was clear: a system that’s simple, fast, and accessible to everyone. That’s how we landed on the concept of QR codes. By attaching a scanNcall QR code to your belongings, you create a direct, secure link between you and anyone who finds them. The finder scans the code and connects with you without needing to exchange personal details.
We started small, testing the idea with friends and family. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and it motivated me to keep pushing forward. Over two years, scanNcall grew from an idea into a fully realized product that’s now helping people across India—and soon, the world.
The Bigger Picture
What started as a personal frustration has turned into a mission to make lost-and-found situations easier for everyone. scanNcall is more than a product; it’s about restoring trust and enabling human connections.
Today, I’m proud to see scanNcall helping people protect their belongings, whether it’s luggage during travel, keys at home, or even cars on busy streets. But this is just the beginning. With global expansion on the horizon, I envision a future where losing something no longer means losing hope.
The journey of creating scanNcall has taught me that every problem is an opportunity waiting to be solved. It has also reinforced my belief that with passion and persistence, you can turn even the simplest ideas into something extraordinary.
